Nesting coffee tables in quarter and rift sawn oak; Olivebridge, NY 2024.

Made entirely from our clients own trees, which were felled during construction of a beautiful pool and guest house.
.
Although we don’t always get to work with trees from our clients properties’, it is always a special experience to do so. Picking up material as logs and returning some months later with heirloom furniture, completing the life cycle of our most precious natural resource.

Tool & tea tote - made this winter for @sutherland

Tool & tea tote - made this winter for @sutherlandwelles to highlight their Teddy’s and Slicky Wicky Witches Wax finishes.

From local air dried walnut, this piece was shaped and finished by kanna (japanese style hand plane). The hand cut dovetails sit just a hair proud, to highlight the craft that went into them.
.
Is there anything better than working beautiful wood, with beautiful handmade tools?

We had so much fun building and working through this piece, hope to make another very soon!

Currently living in a brave new jointer-less world. Also have a beautiful EC Emrich wood bodied jointer plane I’m tuning up today for more backup 😆.

Threw a bearing on my newest and most expensive machine (by a long shot) and so far haven’t had the time or luck to get it back in service. Looks like the tables will have to come off 😑 also dealing with some very questionable engineering decisions, leading to stuck bolts👨‍🎨.
.
Tech support doesn’t seem to have ever serviced one of these 16” jointers before, so they were unfortunately of no help.
.
Another small business paradise problem 😂.

The milking stool is a traditionally constructed 3 leg design, passionately sculpted on our 1927 Oliver patternmakers lathe!

Shown here in suntanned cherry - these are available in any of our standard woods and finishes (please inquire for size changes).

Size: 12” diameter seat, 14”tall, 3 tapered legs, and a scooped seat so that your stool maker can sit on this stool in absolute comfort. Also works well as a low nightstand or table ✌🏻.

It is the best feeling when a piece instantly fits right into the space.

Rift sawn oak tv credenza. Northern white and red oak, solid timber throughout with a shiplap back.

All the timber for this piece comes from our clients property; trees that were removed for a beautiful guest house addition.
.
We really love the 8* dovetail shaped bases and the hidden sculpted handles on this piece.
.
Finished as always with @sutherlandwelles - hand rubbed hard oil.

This is the largest freestanding cabinet we have ever built 😅!
.
Made entirely from solid hard maple (all saved from our clients house), with a steel base.
.
Moving it proved to be quite a challenge. The huge sequenced slab doors were made possible by @vacupress.
.
Can you guess how much it weighs?
.
Wouldn’t have been possible without a crucial assist from a few strong friends on delivery day! Side note: furniture harness straps make all the difference.
