Stuffed Sopapillas

Ingredients
  

Sopapilla

  • 2 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Shortening or Lard
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk

Filling

  • Ground Beef
  • Red Chile Sause
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato

Instructions
 

  • Mix dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Add shortening/lard and milk and mix until dough forms. Roll out dough into squares of your choice (I usually cut 5 inch squares). Fry in a deep pot until golden brown. Cut open and add your cooked ground beef, red chile sauce, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Serve hot (but not too hot!).
