Ingredients
Stuffed Sopapillas
Sopapilla
- 2 cup Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp Shortening or Lard
- 1 1/2 cup Milk
Filling
- Ground Beef
- Red Chile Sause
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Lettuce
- Tomato
Mix dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Add shortening/lard and milk and mix until dough forms. Roll out dough into squares of your choice (I usually cut 5 inch squares). Fry in a deep pot until golden brown. Cut open and add your cooked ground beef, red chile sauce, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Serve hot (but not too hot!).
