Mary’s Flour Tortillas
- Stand-up mixer with dough hook
- 1 3/4 cup Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Lard
- 1/2 cup Warm milk
- Mix dry ingredients in your mixing bowl with dough hook attached. Add in butter, mix well. Slowly pour in warm milk; add extra flour or milk if needed to make dough. Mix with dough hook to form elastic ball. Tear off small pieces (golf ball size) and roll out on lightly floured surface. Cook on cast iron pan or griddle on low/medium heat. Flip over once the tortilla starts to bubble and has a few brown marks. Total time on the stove varies on stovetop and cast-iron but should be around 2 minutes per tortilla. Be cautions not to overcook or they will become hard.
